Nothing Much Happening

There hasn't been much happening here as there has been too much work at work and too much work at home lately.
Painting the garage (plus a few other rooms) has eaten up all of my free time but Will and I did get out for a quick ride Saturday afternoon to grab some hot chips and to sit in the winter sun.

We are loving this BMW and I haven't even had it on the dirt yet!

Victoria Point sunset. Winter in Queensland.....

Still no farkeles yet but I am researching a slip on pipe for more road presence and more importantly, some sort of luggage. Who'd have thought that hard panniers were so expensive?! If anyone has any advice or tips on luggage, feel free to comment below.

Cheers.

  1. Yeah, I dunno if I'd want to have to purchase BMW luggage...or Touratech. I'm not that well-off. No idea what Givi offers for Beemers but it's normally a fair bit cheaper and works. I prefer hard luggage for convenience but a lot of Adv'ers prefer soft as it can stand some damage. I prefer to stay on the bike...

Stop mucking around and go get it dirty...

    1. Andrew, yeah the hard stuff isn't cheap but I like the security for your gear over soft bags. If I hear another dick say "those things are leg breakers" I'll punch 'em! Um, you're riding a motorcycle. Everything is a leg breaker, starting with the handlebars.....and I like to stay upright as much as possible too.
I like the idea of the BMW Vario panniers for toughness if I happen to drop the bike but how hot would it be inside one of them on an Aussie summers day? 70+C? I've seen plenty of melted plastic items from being left in cars over the years.
I'll check Givi as well. Cheers.
