N+1. You Know How This Works Right?

Now I am sure that those regular readers here know the rule that governs the correct number of bikes that a bloke should own?
It is governed by the formula N+1
where N = the current number of bikes one owns
and clearly the + 1 = the number of bikes that need to be added at any given time.

Following this principle (judiciously) has seen me walk the tightrope for a number of years without ending up in the dog house. Last week I walked a little further along that rope, even though it was strung across a ditch deeper than the Grand Canyon.....

Yup, I had a bit of free floor space in my shed so I thought that I had better cover it up.....you know, so I didn't have to sweep that part of the shed......

Introducing my  +1

The kids approve and have both been for a decent ride. They both love it, so I am safe from living in the shed!

Let the farkling begin........

Cheers.

  1. Nice one, welcome to the club! I was worried you were talking push bikes again...

Pop over and I'll show you some real NZ...

  2. Bloody hell Dave, that's an old man's bike - pipe and slippers next! All joking aside, I've never regretted going for a more upright bike as it's kinder to the body on longer hauls. One of our IAM Observers has an identical bike to yours and I'll tell you what - on roads with a less than optimal surface, they have no problem in keeping up with more sport-oriented bikes. Congratulations!

  3. Lol, I just bought some Ugg boots as well(close enough to slippers) but perhaps cigars instead of a pipe?
I think I need to stiffen up the suspenders but man, is it comfortable to ride! Heated grips are the schitz!

  5. Warren, I've read so much negative talk on forums about the reliability of the bike but I just love the way it handles on the blacktop. I hated the Africa Twin by comparison and I just couldn't afford a KTM1190R even though it was AWESOME. Reading between the lines though and a lot of issues seem to be the PEBCAK variety....
My kids love riding pillion and I hope to get some hard panniers on it soon and do some touring. Your route down through the Great Dividing range from Brisbane to Victoria in 2016 (https://www.motorcycleparadise.net/2016/11/down-under-tour-part-one-gold-rush.html) was an inspiration for me to get something that could tackle all roads with comfort and do the same. Thanks.
